Should I send a cover letter for my manuscript?
Yes, authors should send a cover letter to introduce the main results of their research that are included in the manuscript, the relevance and novelty of their proposal, and how connects with the approach of Revista INVI. In the Author's guidelines, we have provided a cover letter that you can use as a template.
Can a rejected manuscript be resubmitted for review?
No. Rejected manuscripts should not be resubmitted.
Can I submit more than one manuscript for review at the same time?
We ask the submission of one paper at a time. We recommend prioritizing those that are more aligned with the journal's thematic lines and always in accordance with Author's guidelines.
I published an article less than a year ago in the journal, can I send another manuscript for evaluation?
We receive many submissions, and we cannot overload our reviewers. Therefore, we do not accept new manuscripts from authors who have been published less than a year ago, even if the new submission is with different co-authors.
My manuscript includes tables, can I send them in a separate file from the body of the paper?
No, the tables must be inserted in the paper, in text format, never send them in image format. More information is on the following link.
How is my manuscript reviewed?
All submissions are first reviewed by the editorial team to verify the thematic relevance and compliance with the editorial guidelines. If the manuscript passes this initial review, it is sent for external peer review, in double-blind mode. You can find the details of the process in this link.
How long does the review process take?
Once the manuscript is sent for peer review, the result may take two to three months. If the article is positively evaluated by peers, the rewriting process and a second review can take two to three more months before acceptance.
What is the cost of publishing in the journal?
Revista INVI is an open-access journal, authors do not pay to publish and readers do not pay to access the content.
Which languages are published in the journal?
We accept manuscripts in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
What are the main reasons that cause desk rejection?
That is a question that has multiple answers. There can be different reasons for a paper to be rejected, among the main ones are that the scope of the manuscript is far from the topics covered by Revista INVI and that the manuscript is not presented according to the Author's guidelines.
Does the 8,000-word limit include the bibliography?
The 8,000 words include everything: title, keywords, and abstract in English and Spanish, plus footnotes, text tables, and references.
Can I submit my manuscript if it is not in the scope of the current call for papers?
Yes, absolutely: Revista INVI has permanent submission, so you can submit your manuscript at any time.
When submitting a manuscript and entering the metadata, what should I enter under "Supporting Agencies"? In Supporting Agencies please indicate the organization funding the research behind the manuscript. For example, FONDECYT, FONDEF, etc. Please fill this data with the name of the funding organization and code, if there is one.
