Authorship statement - CRediT

2023-12-13

Starting in 2024, articles published in Revista INVI written by more than one author must include an authorship statement based on the CRediT taxonomy.

CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) is a taxonomy that increases opportunities for recognising all contributions to research through a standardized list of roles, allowing a more accurate authorship attribution.

Roles:

It is possible to assign more than one role to the same author, and at the same time, the same role can be performed by more than one author. In cases where several people perform the same role, the degree of contribution can be specified as "lead", "equal", or "supporting".

The corresponding author must take responsibility for assigning roles, and all authors must have the opportunity to review and confirm the roles assigned.

We ask authors to include the authorship statement in the article cover letter.

Example authorship statement:

Author 1: conceptualization, data curation, formal analysis, writing – original draft.

Author 2: conceptualization, data curation, project administration.

Author 3: conceptualization, data curation, validation, writing – original draft, writing – review & editing.
